HIGH GRADE ORE BROKEN, ON SURFACE: TRUE FISSURE OPEN PIT, CIRCA 1973
The True Fissure Stockpile is the largest area of historical open-pit mining activity on the Thor property. In this area, the True Fissure Zone is exposed directly at surface. According to various records the area was mined in the early 1970’s. The True Fissure Stockpile is sourced from the outcropping True Fissure deposit in this area. It appears that though much of the zone was drilled and blasted, very little of the ore present was removed and processed.
Using an on-site gravity-based concentrator, the left-over minerals will be extracted and the waste properly disposed of during the testing of the material.

Engineering surveys in 2014 estimated that the True Fissure stockpiles contains approximately 4,139 cubic meters of stockpiled material. The grade of the stockpiles has already been estimated, and will be released as subsequent NI 43-101 reports are completed at Thor. |
Five excavator trenches were put across the stockpile. The trenches were sampled every two meters along the trench, and the samples were measured from the top of the stockpile. A total of 225 survey stations were completed on the True Fissure Stockpile, and recorded via differential GPS measurements. |
The True Fissure Stockpile is one of three existing piles of high-grade ore that was sampled and surveyed in 2014.
