A Better Concept of Sustainability
Taranis Resources is building a genuinely sustainable mine at Thor. Mined metals are part of your phone, computer, television, vehicle, home, infrastructure, society, culture, and way of life. Do you know where the metals you use every day have come from?
Are they produced sustainably? How would you know? What does "sustainable" even mean? There is no universal agreement in regards to the word's meaning (HEC Global Learning Centre). We think sustainability has become an unfortunate 'buzzword' - overused, with definitions that can be twisted - obfuscating the real challenges of productive mines and other industries.
Responsible industry's equilibrium with important externalities like environmental protection and human development and safety is our view of sustainability. The need for mining is real and is not going away. Mines can be 'good' or 'bad' depending on how and why they are operated.
Now is the time for you to make your voice heard in the global debate about sustainability!
Years of research and development underlie Provincial and Federal mining regulations. Taranis has taken a major effort to meet or exceed regulatory expectations in the development of the Thor project. We know that by generously investing our time and resources into this effort we are laying the groundwork for a positive, sustainable mining operation at Thor, because these regulations exist to protect what's most valuable. Taranis cooperates regularly with the British Columbia provincial government to ensure that mining Thor causes no undue impact on the regions ecosystems and environment.
The same cannot be said of mining projects in other jurisdictions.
Sustainable Mines & Their Management:
1: Use exploration & mining techniques that minimize disruption of the natural environment
2: Are engineered from the start with plans for reclamation, monitoring, and environmental recovery in mind
3: Treat workers with respect and always make safety the #1 priority during operations
4: Are located in legal jurisdictions that have extensive precedent and experience with mining and are low in corruption
5: Employ best-achievable mining and processing technologies to avoid health and environmental damage
6: Design processes around gravity separation, forbid mercury, and do not require cyanide for on-site processing
7: Provide products to the global market that are 100% conflict-free - as calls for boycotts of "dirty metals" grow
8: Reinvest capital - such as remedying existing historical disturbance caused by others

By supporting Taranis Resources' efforts to develop the Thor mine, you are supporting the best type of mining. It is accountable and sustainable as a source of metals for the global market. By supporting precious and base metals mines in British Columbia, you are supporting mines that are legally bound to uphold safety, environmental, compensation, and engineering regulations.
Let's face the facts: global demand for the metals at Thor is only going to increase.
Do your part to protect people and the environment.
Demand conflict-free minerals from jurisdictions that see to it that mines are operated responsibly.
Support Taranis' development of the Thor mine, and others like it.
Thor has Inferred and Indicated resources that could already supply the world's demand for silver for two entire years of cell phone production. The gold, lead, zinc, copper, indium, and other metals in the Thor polymetallic deposit can be produced more sustainably than metals in almost any other mining jurisdiction on earth.
The choice is yours!
